Susanoo
The Mangekyou Sharingan lets its users summon Susanoo, a huge, human-like form made of chakra that’s great for attacking and defending. You can only activate Susanoo if both of your Mangekyou eyes are awake. It starts as a ribcage shield and can turn into a fully armored warrior. This powerful technique gives strong defense and attack abilities, but it uses up a lot of chakra and can make your eyesight worse over time if you use it too much. Amaterasu
Amaterasu is a ninjutsu that creates black flames that can’t be put out on whatever the user looks at. These flames burn the target for seven days and nights, turning it to dust. The user can turn off this technique anytime, and no regular way can stop the fire. While strong, it isn’t unbeatable. Otsutsukis can absorb it, Naruto showed it’s possible to dodge the flames using the Nine-Tails’ chakra, and someone fast enough can also avoid them.
Kamui
Kamui is a ninjutsu that moves objects or the user to another space-time, creating a spiral that distorts the target. Inside Kamui’s space-time, people are invisible, and their chakra can’t be sensed. The user can eject targets with different force, making Kamui useful in fights. Only Kamui can enter its space-time, making it a safe place. Obito and Kakashi, who both use Kamui, are immune to each other’s Kamui and can stop each other’s attempts. Obito once used Kamui to return his soul briefly to help Kakashi, giving him the use of his Sharingan.
Izanagi
Izanagi is a risky, forbidden technique allowing users to change reality, creating a new one different from the current one. Legends credit Hagoromo Otsutsuki with this power, supposedly using it to create life and extend life on the planet. Using Yin Release, Izanagi manifests something from nothing, while Yang Release brings it to life. It can even bring the user back to life after death, ensuring they survive. But this strong ability has a price—the user must sacrifice their vision by losing one of their eyes. For example, Danzo sought to control this power by implanting multiple Sharingans in his body, losing each eye used this way.
Izanami
Izanami counters Izanagi, bringing balance. While Izanagi changes what happens, Izanami decides what will happen. To use Izanami, the user traps the opponent in a repeating cycle of actions. The cycle continues until a specific sequence happens again. Once this happens, the opponent gets stuck in a never-ending mental loop. They can only break free by accepting their true fate. Itachi Uchiha famously used Izanami to defeat Kabuto, stopping Uchiha from misusing Izanagi. When Uchiha used Izanagi too much, Izanami trapped them in a never-ending illusion until they became sane again. Like Izanagi, using Izanami has a big cost—the user loses their vision.

Itachi Uchiha
Itachi Uchiha got his Mangekyou Sharingan after his friend Shisui died, which was really hard for him. With his left eye, he could use Tsukuyomi, a powerful genjutsu that messed with time and hurt people mentally. His right eye let him create Amaterasu, which made black flames that couldn’t be put out. He could also summon Susanoo. But using these techniques used up a lot of his chakra and made his body tired.
Obito Uchiha
Obito Uchiha got his Mangekyou Sharingan after he saw Rin die because of Kakashi. His right eye gave him Kamui, which let him send things to another dimension and make his body parts go through things. This power made him almost unbeatable in fights. Later, during the Fourth Great Ninja War, he got back both eyes, which made his Kamui even stronger. Now, he could teleport himself and others more easily.
Madara Uchiha
Madara Uchiha and his brother Izuna were among the first Uchiha to get the Mangekyou Sharingan. Using it too much made them go blind. To fix this, Madara had Izuna’s eyes transplanted into himself, giving him the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. This gave him a lot of power without hurting his health. Sasuke Uchiha
Sasuke Uchiha unlocked his Mangekyou Sharingan after learning the truth about Itachi’s sacrifice. His left eye allowed him to cast Amaterasu, while his right eye controlled the flames. Sasuke also developed Susanoo, which evolved through multiple stages. Initially reluctant to transplant Itachi’s eyes, he eventually did so, gaining the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan and enhancing his power and vision.
Shisui Uchiha
Shisui Uchiha got his Mangekyou Sharingan for reasons we don’t know. His best skill was Kotoamatsukami, a strong genjutsu that let him control others without them knowing. He did this by putting fake experiences and thoughts into their minds, making them think their choices were their own. This genjutsu could change how someone remembered things and saw the world, basically controlling their mind. It was so sneaky and exact that the person wouldn’t even know they were being controlled. But using this power had a long time before he could use it again.
Indra Otsutsuki
Indra Ootsutsuki was the first person known to have the Mangekyou Sharingan. He could use the Perfect Susanoo, a powerful ability. In the anime, he got it after he killed his followers. With his left eye, he could use Amaterasu.
Shin Uchiha
