Mr. Mantis Shrimp, often called Peeny-Weeny, is an alien who looks like a mantis shrimp. Like the real marine creature, he has insane strength and super-fast strikes. While introduced as an enemy, he changes sides and joins the heroes after they help him.
Personality
Mr. Mantis Shrimp is strong, caring, and funny. Though he seems scary when he first appears, his love for his son, Chiquitita, shows who he truly is. He’s extremely protective, and even though he’s fierce in battle, he cares a lot for the people close to him.
After the main characters show him kindness, he feels grateful and bonds with them. He even becomes friends with the group, adding humor to serious situations. His scary looks and strong powers don’t define him. Instead, it’s his loyalty and love for his son, and his new friends.

When Mr. Mantis Shrimp activates his Dover Demon Strong Style Twenty-Four, he unlocks a form that pushes his abilities to the max while transforming his appearance into something even more alien and fierce. His head takes on the look of a mantis shrimp, complete with green eyes and an extra set of larger eyes that flash when he talks. In summary look like a mix of a crustacean and something out of a sci-fi movie.
His hands turn into sharp, mantis claws. These claws are versatile, doubling as both weapons and shields. His feet flatten out into shapes resembling flippers, showing that this transformation is just as useful underwater as it is on land. However, he still needs to surface for air in this form, there are no gills to help him breathe underwater, despite the aquatic look.
Enhanced Power and Abilities
In this form, Mr. Mantis Shrimp’s strength gets a massive boost. His punches, already powerful enough to pack a punch (literally), now send out shockwaves with every hit. These shockwaves allow him to strike from a distance, hitting enemies even when they aren’t close enough for direct attacks. If someone doesn’t have lightning-fast reflexes or incredible speed, they’ll have a hard time dodging his blows.
Underwater, his power goes through the roof. His strength increases tenfold when submerged, making him almost unstoppable in aquatic battles. The water around him becomes a weapon in itself, amplifying his speed and the force of his shockwave punches. This makes him incredibly dangerous in any kind of underwater fight.
Time Limits and Power Boosts
This transformation doesn’t last long. True to its name, it only gives him 24 seconds of enhanced power. However, every second counts because the raw intensity of this form is overwhelming. To extend this time limit, Mr. Mantis Shrimp can use items like the Serpo Energy Drink. This special drink allows him to hold the transformation for up to 24 hours, which is useful for long fights or missions that require extended bursts of power.
Fighting Style Changes
While in Dover Demon Strong Style Twenty-Four, Mr. Mantis Shrimp adjusts how he fights depending on where he is. On land, he switches between close-range combat and mid-range attacks, using his claws and shockwaves to keep enemies on their toes. Participation in the Story
First Encounter
Mr. Mantis Shrimp shows up as part of a group trying to capture Okarun, who has supernatural powers. He fights at Okarun’s school, clashing with Aira Shiratori, a fast and skilled fighter. Aira dodges all his moves, and his ally, the Dover Demon, embarrasses himself by getting stuck in the ceiling. Eventually, the Serpo weaken Aira with psychic powers, giving the Dover Demon a chance to fight her.
But things take a turn when Okarun, freed by Momo Ayase, helps Aira regain the upper hand. As the fight gets out of control, Nessie shows up and floods the area, making things even worse. Mr. Mantis Shrimp is especially dangerous underwater, showing off his speed and power as the flood changes the battlefield.
A Change of Heart
After the fight, Mr. Mantis Shrimp collapses from his injuries. Instead of leaving him behind, Okarun, Momo, and Aira decide to take him home and care for him. This unexpected kindness surprises him. It’s the first time someone has helped him without expecting anything in return. He explains that he was only fighting because he needed money to save his son’s life, as Chiquitita requires a special blood transfusion to survive.
Momo’s grandmother, Seiko Ayase, finds a creative solution. She gives him a dairy cow that produces a blood-like substance his species can use. Touched by their generosity, Mr. Mantis Shrimp decides to stay on Earth with his son and the cow, becoming a loyal ally to the group.
Standing with His New Friends
After moving in with the group, Mr. Mantis Shrimp helps them during major challenges. When their house is destroyed, he works with Okarun and the others to rebuild it using alien tech. This shows how much he’s become part of the team, helping out wherever he can.
During later fights, he proves himself a strong ally. Against advanced enemies, like Kur fighters with exosuits, he uses his skills and underwater abilities to defeat them. He also starts training alongside the main characters, preparing for an alien invasion.
